When ploughing his field, a farmer in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh accidently discovered artefacts which are estimated to be around 4000 year old. As the archaeologists further inspected the findings, they revealed that the artefacts found by the farmer include copper swords and harpoons.

The weapons found on the site are up to four feet long. The Archaeological Survey of India officials state that these copper hoards belong to the Chalcolithic period or copper age. They said these weapons may have been used either by warriors or hunters.
