To encourage intertribal interaction, the Hornbill Festival is celebrated each year from 1st to 10th December at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama in Nagaland, 12 km from Kohima. All the tribes take part in the Festival and cultural performances and ceremonies are organised. There are craft exhibitions and food fairs along with herbal medicines and flower shows. The festival is organised by the State Tourism and Arts & Culture Department. Simultaneously a rock music festival is also held with the Hornbil International Rock Concert organised by the Music Task Force, Government of Nagaland.
